That Skeleton In Your Closet

As this article makes clear, we all have a film in our collection that we're really, really ashamed of liking.

The list in question contains film reviewers 'guilty pleasures', and they site 'There's Something About Mary' as one example.

My own is also from the Farrelly brothers, being as it is 'Me, Myself & Irene.' It is so, so sooooooo stupid, yet I love every single minute of it, from the daftness and crassness of the humour to the really wonderful soundtrack it has.

So, readers! What are your skeletons in the video drawer?

Comments:
In fairness, some of those are really poor. 'The Dreamers' was irritating, for definite.

Of the others, I've only seen 'Swimming Pool', which was again quite poor. It reminded me of 'Sirens' - just far too great a reliance on the attractiveness of the female stars. And although Ludivine Sagnier is hot hot hot, I just don't think it's enough.

Of the others, I only know anything about 'School Of Rock' and 'Ken Park', both of which I've been, so far succesfully, avoiding. The former because it looks really bad in trailers and suchforth, and because I have a strange affection for Jack Black based on the way he kicks the dog off the bridge in 'Anchorman.' I've been avoiding the latter because I've heard nothing but bad things about it, and as, against my better nature, I really loved 'Kids', I don't want to hate Larry Clark.

'Liar Liar' is a fine film, partly because the infant in me finds Jim Carrey funny, but mostly because Jennifer Tilly is in it, and she is both a wonderful actress, both at serious and camp, and she is also so, so, sexy.

What am I talking about?

Of course those aren't the only ones I've heard of. Obviously, I've heard of 'Rocky' too, but like you I'm ambivalent at best. It's just bog-standard fare really.

I have to admit a slight admiration for the cheesy music, mostly because I played it once when I was in a brass band at a concert.

I was trapped in front of Housesitter once due to a severe hangover. I am ashamed that I began to enjoy it after a while.
So very ashamed.

Ooooh, dear, 'HouseSitter.' Not good. Still, illness can be an excuse. I once had the 'flu, was suffering delusions, and consequently watched an entire 'Eastenders' omnibus. You can imagine the shame of it.

I've not watched a single minute since. This is one of my proudest achievements in life.
